Pocket Reduction Surgery

Services  >  Periodontics  > Pocket Reduction Surgery

Depending on the results of the “deep cleaning”, you may require periodontal surgery to improve your oral health. Surgery is done with local freezing, and sedation if this makes you more comfortable. During the procedure, gums are opened to allow better access to clean the roots and re-shape the bone around the teeth. Gums are sutured back together and a dressing may be placed.  Surgery is intended to help make your home care more effective and allow your hygienist to better clean your teeth.  It is only successful in patients performing excellent oral hygiene at home.
