Sometimes your dentist may notice an abnormality in your jaw, and refer you for evaluation. Abnormalities will sometimes present as abnormal colouration, growths, or appearance on an x-ray.
Our doctors have received extensive training in the identification and management of benign and malignant lesions of the oral cavity, and head and neck. At your consultation, your doctor will evaluate the lesion, and recommend a treatment. Additional blood tests or CT scans may sometimes be required. Most treatment will involve a biopsy where part or all of the lesion is sent for microscopic examination. Any further treatment will be guided by the biopsy results.
