Many people suffer from pain in the Temporomandibular Joints (TMJ, or “Jaw Joints”), or from the muscles and tendons surrounding the TMJ.  There are many possible causes of TMJ and orofacial pain.

At your consultation appointment, your doctor will review your medical history and ask about any contributing factors to your pain.  A careful examination will be performed, and x-rays will be evaluated.  Additional imaging in the form of CT scans or MRI may be ordered.  Treatments usually first involve non-surgical methods to help relieve the pain and discomfort.  A small percentage of people require surgical treatment to help alleviate their condition.
